Aiki Combatives

Aiki Combatives (Aikicom) is a sophisticated fighting system, which includes throws, holds, locks, strikes, and submissions. The roots of Aikicom come from Aikido. Elements of Kung Fu and Jiu-Jitsu were integrated making it effective and practical for today’s world. Its primary focus is self-defense through techniques and concepts that are efficient, dynamic and work in the real world. Aikicom bridges the gap between traditional training and modern day training. The emphasis is placed on techniques that are effective for street self-defense and life or death situations.

The objective is not to fight the opponent’s strengths but instead attack his weaknesses. Leverage and energy redirection are used to off balance the opponent. The Aikicom practitioner will be able to negate and redirect most of their opponent’s power without the use of excessive strength.

Men, women, and children can practice Aiki Combatives at all ages. A key principle taught in Aikicom is mindset, this is taught from the student’s first day on the mat. We believe in training the body and mind as one. Our mission is to train the students from the inside out. Regular practice encourages a high level of physical fitness, confidence, coordination, and camaraderie. Challenge yourself in training, and reap the benefits of physical and internal improvement, on and off the mat.

Aiki Combatives Series We Offer

Dynamics of Aiki Combatives

By Rafa Conde

Dynamics of Aiki Combatives Series introduces the principles, concepts and techniques that are at the core of Aiki Combatives also known as Aikicom.

Welcome to the evolution of Aikido, this is the first battle tested integrated martial art centered on Aikido principles and concepts. Aikicom links Aikido throws, joint locks, pins and redirection of energy with Judo/Jujitsu (ne waza) for ground combat and Gung Fu for striking, kicking and trapping. The integration of these fighting arts was systematically developed throughout a 15-year period.

While primarily a real world self defense system, it is also highly effective in the cage. Aikicom is known for its quick disposition of the enemy through superior positioning and a balance of passive and aggressive control. It focuses on a pragmatic approach to real world hand-to-hand combat and has been effectively taught to the Military, Law Enforcement and Security Forces throughout the world.
